The Outpost Church

Last week, representatives of the NMB, Conference Trustee Board, and Pittsburgh District, met in Elizabeth, PA to discuss and pray about the possibility of planting a new church in the community.

About 3 years ago, Victory Church closed, leaving a vacancy in the community for a local church.  The building is in good repair, and at present, Pastor Paul Walter has been hosting a Friday night Bible Study on site.

We are exploring the feasibility of starting a new church there with a core group of believers, meeting for worship on Sunday evenings.  The prospects seem favorable for this approach.

Please be in prayer for this possibility.  If you or your church would like to get involved in this project, please let us know.  We would be grateful for your help.

February 21 - Discipleship in the Local Church

Hello friends,

On Wednesday, February 21st, the National Mission Board will be offering training for the Wyoming and Schuylkill Districts on "Discipleship in the Local Church."  We will be discussing what a disciple looks like and suggesting some practical strategies, as well as tools, that our churches can begin using to help produce disciples within the church body.

We will also be enjoying lunch together as well as some group discussion/brainstorming time.

The training will be held at Relevant Church in Allentown because that's a central meeting place for both districts.

Time:  10:00am - 3:00pm

Cost:  Free (The NMB will cover costs, but donations are always appreciated)

For whom:  Any church leader or volunteer who is interested in learning more about helping others grow in their walk with Christ.

Please register by February 19th by sending an email to NationalMissionBoard@gmail.com.  This will enable us to be prepared for lunch.

Looking forward to seeing you there.  Throughout the year, we will be offering training in our other districts as well, so please look for additional upcoming announcements.

Your friend in Christ,

John Stange

NMB Director
